Big Fish Project provides specialist therapeutic farm-based alternative provision for neurodivergent children and young people who struggle to access mainstream education. Placements focus on emotional regulation, engagement and confidence in a calm, structured environment that supports readiness to re-engage with learning.
Want to join Big Fish Project as a Farm Attendee?
1. Watch our virtual tour
If you know someone interested in becoming a farm attendee, please watch our short video. This will be updated soon to include our new polytunnel, upgraded workshop and new animals. You can contact us with any questions you have.
2. Complete an Application Form
If you think Big Fish Project is for you, please complete an application form and email the completed form to info@bigfishproject.com. Please let us know the ideal days and hours, and if this will be a one off experience or a regular placement.
If this will be a regular placement, please also send any SEND, Care Assessment, EHCP’s and their latest review documents to info@bigfishproject.com. It is important that we have a full and complete picture of the Farm Atentdee’s needs, wants, risks and behaviours. We will also use this to complete the profile.
3. Attending your first day as a Farm Attendee
We are outside most of the day. We do have an indoor area, a workshop and access to hot drinks.
The farm attendee will need to bring the following:
Clothing appropriate for the weather to work in.
Wellies (Walking boots are also acceptable during the summer months).
Packed lunch and any drinks they like.
We will provide all other specialist PPE if required, as well as tea, herbal teas, Bovril, hot chocolate, coffee, and water.
